We invite you to enjoy a self-catering holiday in rural France, staying in a stone built detached cottage, sleeping up to five people plus a baby in a cot. Located in Lower Normandy within easy reach of several ferry ports. Caen and St.Malo are ninety minutes drive, and Cherbourg is two hours drive. Calais is around four and a half hours drive.

We welcome you to our quiet corner of France. Enjoy the quiet lanes, woodland paths and viewpoints with amazing views over the Normandy countryside. Ideal for walking, cycling, or simply relaxing.



The cottage is located in a hamlet, La Croix Crespin, close to the small town of Mortain, that has all amenities. The cottage is within walking distance, down the hill, to the town with a few restaurants,a couple of bars, outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, shops, a small cinema and a supermarket, with a petrol station.

Within less than thirty minutes you will find waterfalls, lakes, golf, horse riding, woodland walks, viewpoints, historic churches and memorials, markets and museums and tourist attractions for all ages and interests. Slightly further away are many castles, wildlife parks and gardens, World War II sites and memorials. The nearest coast with long sandy beaches, shallow waters and fishing ports is around 40 minutes drive. For the more adventurous there is rock climbing and paragliding, kayaking and canoeing, even bungee jumping.Children of all ages are well catered for within the area..





Mortain makes an ideal base to have a gastronomical experience; tastings of locally produced pear and apple cidre and Calvados, apple tarte, seafood and not forgetting the wonderful dairy produce: cheese, butter and cream and the very tasty Mont St Michel lamb and may other local delicacies and specialities. Explore many places of interest; town, coast or country that Normandy and Western Brittany and the Mayenne has to offer.
